shake it out

I love to sing. I walk about my apartment singing. I lipsync to songs while I'm walking to and from anywhere and while I'm at work. Lately, one of the songs I am thoroughly enjoying to sing along to is Shake It Out. It is originally sung by Florence and the Machine but I really love this version from SMASH. (I also wish my life was a musical like SMASH or Glee). Other than the fact that it's fun to sing along to, I like the lyrics. "It's always darkest before the dawn". A little Saturday afternoon boost for you :]

The End

Yesterday was a hopeful yet frustrating and sad day. Why? The Knicks played in Game 5 of the first round of playoffs against the HEAT. Hopeful, because they beat the HEAT at the Garden on Sunday in game 4. Frustrating, because they lost the series to HEAT in game 5 in Miami. Sad, because now Knicks basketball is over until next season and there is a void in my life.

There is so much about yesterday's game that was frustrating. From the players to the plays to the coach. But what do I know? I'm obviously not in the NBA in any sense, just someone driving the bandwagon! I am excited for what the next season has to offer for the Knicks. With a healthy team, I'm confident they can make it pretty far.

So, here's to the 2011-2012 New York Knicks basketball team and season. It has been an exciting and eventful season. Thank you for the excitement, joy, heartbreak and cheers. I look forward to even more next season!

Now back to focusing on finishing my Masters....

Who Me?

Me? I'm a child of God first and foremost. In a little more detail I am a graduate of NYU who has studied abroad in Florence, Italy and recently moved back to NYC to see what the city has to offer me. This will be my 11th course in the MSBFSM program and words cannot express how excited I am to be coming to the end. I will be participating in graduation next week and the thought of walking across that stage in my cap and gown is what is motivating me.

To say this masters program has been trying is an understatement. There have been times where I didn't think I would make it to the end, a lot of breakdowns, but at the same time a lot of joy and pride. As I mentioned, I recently moved back to NYC as I got a new job within the hotel industry. A job that I was looking forward to getting once I completed the program. The courses helped me to get the position I have today and I will always be thankful for that. (A little more about me here!)

This collage should give a broad overview of what is most important to me. My family and friends mean the most to me in this world. Some other fun interests of mine include traveling, cooking, and naturally the NY Knicks!

On another note, I unintentionally went shopping after work today to get myself ready for this course!
